Earl Grey Tea – Classic Blend
Between Roots and Beans:
The story of our coffee begins in the Peña Blanca village, in the municipality of Tununguá, Boyacá. There, my grandfather was the first to plant coffee, convinced that this land had a special gift. With effort and dedication, he established the first coffee plants, beginning a legacy that was later continued by my father, who settled in the Ancamay village and founded El Consuelo Farm. Today, with immense pride, I am the one keeping this tradition alive, caring for each plant with the same love and respect I learned from them.
At El Consuelo Farm, coffee is grown in a traditional and organic way, following a process that begins with planting. Each seed is carefully selected and placed in the fertile mountain soil, where it germinates under Tununguá’s privileged climate. As the plant grows, it receives constant care: land cleaning, natural shade, and chemical-free protection, because we know the quality of the bean depends on the health of the soil.
When harvest time arrives, the work is entirely manual. Bean by bean, only the ripe fruits are picked, ensuring that each one preserves its authentic flavor. After that, the outer skin is removed by hand, a process that requires patience and care. Finally, the beans are spread out to dry under the sun, taking advantage of the mountain’s natural temperature, which preserves their aroma, freshness, and essence.
Being a coffee grower is more than a trade: it is a calling that demands dedication and discipline, but one that brings pride in return. Because in every cup of coffee that comes from these mountains, the richness of Tununguá and the love we put into our work are conveyed. That is the true value of our tradition: knowing that the effort of generations becomes warmth and life for those who enjoy our coffee.
El Consuelo is not just coffee. It is history, heritage, and the honest flavor of our land.
